I hired Erynn to cater the food for my June 22nd wedding and to say she did an amazing job is an understatement. This was some of the best food I have ever had and every guest agreed. Not only was the food beyond exceptional but Erynn is on-time, responsive, calm, and, while friendly, is a tough cookie. She was put in a situation with a tiny kitchen with very little room to maneuver and she didn't come to me with problems, she just figured out how to make it work. And her price structure is beyond reasonable.
There were some issues but they were more the fault of my planning. But you live and learn.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend South End Chef and I hope I have reason to hire Erynn again. Her onion tarts are going on my Top 10 list of "Best Things I Have Ever Put In My Mouth". I will post some pictures soon.

I contacted Erynn to cook for a quiet, 2-person, birthday dinner aboard a boat in the Charlestown Navy Yard.
Erynn is patient and sweet and such an AMAZING chef. I have never hired a personal chef before, so I didn't have any expectations, but our meals were TRULY awesome. She made for us, mussels in tomato broth, fish with asparagus and tomatoes and olives, beef with mushroom risotto and this espresso chocolate custard that I could've eaten for the rest of my life for every meal. (I attached 2 picture of the entrees.)
I fully intend on hiring Erynn again in the future, perhaps for a larger cocktail party.

Erynn planned, shopped, and cooked for the intimate 10th Anniversary dinner my partner and I threw for one another. We gave her a list of wines to prepare. She provided us with a list of key (and some quirky) questions on our likes and dislikes, which we answered. Erynn then designed a four course meal built around both our answers and our wines. We had some dialogue about the menu (which we ultimately accepted in its entirety) via email. Then Erynn arrived at our place hauling everything she needed and prepared and served a gorgeous meal. She cleaned up after herself and discretely departed.
Erynn was terrific. Her communication (mostly via email) was efficient, effective, prompt, and funny. She cooked our lamb precisely the way we liked it, introduced us to cooking with saffron, and left our kitchen cleaner than when she arrived. She was engaging when we had questions and comments, but also discrete to allow us to enjoy our dinner together. Her meal showed a great deal of thought and its execution -- much of which she did in our kitchen -- was entertaining to watch. The menu choices (below) were inventive without being wacky. Her excitement at being given free reign to generate ideas was palpable -- and paid off. We trusted her instincts and judgment and were rewarded with a great meal.
I cannot wait to have a bigger dinner party and have her back as the star!

I recently hired Erynn to do a cooking class/dinner for my boyfriend and parents. Not only did Erynn put together an incredible sounding menu, the food we had in person was even better! She was very professional and easy to communicate with.
The four of us are rather big foodies and it does take a lot to impress us. But Erynn far surpassed our expectations - especially the duck she pan fried for us (including cooking fingerling potatoes in duck fat) was EXCEPTIONAL.
I'd highly recommend Erynn for any event you have coming up!

Erynn provided me with a one-on-one cooking lesson at my house. She arrived with all the supplies (including a very nice bottle of wine) and walked/talked/guided me through the preparation of an amazing three-course meal: panko-crusted goat cheese with heirloom tomatoes, pork tenderloin with pomegranate reduction, risotto with roasted sweet potato and parmesan, and no-bake brownies. She made it easy and fun and educational, and provided lots of general advice as well as specific tips. And the kitchen was clean by the time my wife and I finished the appetizer. Erynn knows her stuff....
